Come celebrate Long Trail Day with the Green Mountain Club by joining us for a hike! Whether you are a registered Long Trail Day participant or not, we hope that you will participate.

All hike groups will gather at the Barnes Camp Visitor Center on Route 108. Be prepared to leave for your hike at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Parking is available in the Stowe Mountain Resort parking lot across the street from the Visitor Cente ...

Come celebrate Long Trail Day with the Green Mountain Club by joining us for a hike! Whether you are a registered Long Trail Day participant or not, we hope that you will participate.

All hike groups will gather at the Barnes Camp Visitor Center on Route 108. Be prepared to leave for your hike at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Parking is available in the Stowe Mountain Resort parking lot across the street from the Visitor Center.

Current hikes planned are:

-Mount Mansfield Ridgeline, Alpine Zone Flora Tour with State Botanist Bob Popp (~2 miles, easy. Hikers will carpool to the top of Mansfield via the Toll Road. Parking details to come)

-Taylor Lodge led by Maggie Twitchell of Backpacking for Slowpokes (Slow hikers encouraged! Moderate 3.2 mile out-and-back with 780' elevation gain.) MEET AT LAKE MANSFIELD TROUT CLUB AT 10:30 AM FOR THE HIKE TO TAYLOR LODGE

-Sterling Pond Loop (2.4 miles; 930’ elevation gain, moderate) with Mel Thibeault, founder of Queer Hikes

-Mansfield Summit via Long Trail South (6 miles, difficult) with Long Trail Fastest Known Time Record Holder Liz Derstine (Starts at 11 a.m.)

This fundraiser will help the Waterbury Ambulance Service reach their goal of $3 million towards the station creation project.

Waterbury Ambulance Service provides emergency medical coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with two ambulances, more than 30 volunteers, two full-time Advanced EMTs, as well as several paid Advanced EMTs. It is important to note that we are a nonprofit organization not a town or state agency and we rely on the generosity of community members like you. Your support, volunteer work, our annual household subscription, and donations allow us to provide award-winning services, operations, and back-country rescue. We were awarded Ambulance Service of the year by the State of Vermont in 2021.

On Monday, September 12th at 5:30 PM, Skip will be leading a walking tour describing the historic buildings along the streets of Waterbury. Meet at the Waterbury Public Library's parking lot a bit before that, so as to start promptly at 5:30. The tour will begin at the home of Army Civil War surgeon Dr. Henry Janes, who was on the platform at Gettysburg when President Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address. Walking south along the former Winooski Turnpike, now Main Street, the tour includes the story of historic buildings along the way that contributed to the development of Waterbury. Some of the buildings include a former Stage Coach Inn, an historic business district rebuild after a massive fire in 1879, an original fire house and jail , the 1875 Railroad station and public park. The tour takes about an hour, covers about a mile along Waterbury Streets, ending on Stowe Street.

The gym is open at 6:30pm to start setting up the net and play is from 7 - 9pm. Please park behind the building and enter through the rear doors.

Thanks to a grant from Waterbury Winterfest, this season is free to play for anyone who wants to attend!

The gym is open at 6:30pm to start setting up the net and play is from 7 - 9pm. Please park behind the building and enter through the rear doors.

Thanks to a grant from Waterbury Winterfest, this season is free to play for anyone who wants to attend!
All levels of skill are welcome as long as you want to have fun in a relaxed setting.

Play is dependent on the school schedule and attendance. Please email [email protected] if you plan on coming and I'll keep you updated on any schedule changes.
