Painting Peace: Community Enso Painting and Meditation

Even a few moments of meditation can help manage stress and fear associated with personal and societal struggle and nurture connection and understanding both internally on an individual level, as well as collectively. It’s easy to feel he ...

Even a few moments of meditation can help manage stress and fear associated with personal and societal struggle and nurture connection and understanding both internally on an individual level, as well as collectively. It’s easy to feel hemmed in. This creative process offers mental space to see the big picture and feel a bit of tenderness. It also gives people who don’t think they have a creative bone in their body the opportunity to hold a brush, dunk in paint and make something. This simple act can change an individual’s perception of what art is and isn’t and the possibility that they, too, could participate in a creative act.

Monica DiGiovanni has been an educator to people of all ages, teaching art, yoga, and meditation, and has also served as an elementary school substitute teacher in various communities. She has also created and facilitated creative revisioning retreats to help individuals and organizations expand perspectives and discover joy in possibility.

Participation is open to anyone present to paint their own ens?, as well as to participate in a group intention and contribute to the creation of the larger one.

Project Details
A table set up with paper, brushes, and paints is available for individuals to explore present moment experience and paint their own ens? or any spontaneous expression.
Participants also have the option in participating in guided instructions for painting an ens?.
The event culminates in a guided community peace meditation to set intention for the painting of a large ens?. Anyone present can add drops of colored paint to the paper while meditating on their individual intention to be included in the final painting.

For those wishing to extend the experience, discounted lodging at Sugarbush is available with 20% off for event attendees, subject to availability at booking. Regardless of the weather, doors open at 7:00PM for music, dinner and activities; live music wraps at 8:30PM followed by the telescope giveaway (you must be present to win); the live stargazing broadcast begins at 9:00PM and the event concludes at 10:00PM.
