The story unfolds in unexpected ways revealing a father’s painful confrontations with his three identical sons. Cloning technology and the human spirit produce a clash of nature and nurture, bringing into question the morality of both parenthood and science. A stark, void space allows the spotlight to fall on the harsh reality of ethical parenting in this melancholic portrayal of a man’s love for his child.

Although "A Number" drives its audience to the edge of their seat, ultimately, it’s a thoughtful and touching human story about emotional well-being. It’s about wanting a second chance, deserved or otherwise. It’s about being yourself, even when it’s disturbing to realize that other very similar selves are out there.

Teresa Langston (formerly of Fayston, Vermont) is a director and performer with a long list of credits across the theatrical spectrum and film, including the direction of Red Flag, a Sundance Film Festival contender. A consummate artist and insightful theater maker now residing in Connecticut, this powerful script under her direction delivers a compelling night at the theater. ?Her next directorial project will be Robert O'Hara's "Barbecue" in August (CT).

How'd we pick the book? It's easy when local author Catherine Drake has written a page-turning love story not only set in Waterbury, but a love story to Waterbury!

How'd we pick the book? It's easy when local author Catherine Drake has written a page-turning love story not only set in Waterbury, but a love story to Waterbury!

Picture this: You run into your neighbor and ask, "Are you reading the One Town book?" Hopefully, they say yes, and conversation ensues. You're checking out at the grocery store and spot the book in someone's bag. Time for a great chat! You ask your bartender if he's reading the One Town book. He says no, but you tell him all about it and he says he'll grab a copy from the library. He might be lying, but at least it was a fun conversation! You've been wanting to get all the parent's together from your kid's class? Plan a night in July when you can all discuss The Treehouse on Dog River Road!

Anybody can start their own book club, host a backyard party for their neighbors, or find other ways to enjoy the book together! It's all about building community.

Our vision is to give our neighbors something new to chat about, a reason to get together, and common ground to explore. Thanks for supporting a local author, local businesses, and reconnecting to a piece of our town history through a new lens.

This is the largest and most important annual fundraiser for Waterbury Area Trail Alliance (WATA). It's always a blast and this year is going to be the best ever. All proceeds from the event directly support trail building and maintenance in the Waterbury Area - Perry Hill & Little River State Park. They also help fund our long-range plans to link WATA trails to other local trail systems. ...

This is the largest and most important annual fundraiser for Waterbury Area Trail Alliance (WATA). It's always a blast and this year is going to be the best ever. All proceeds from the event directly support trail building and maintenance in the Waterbury Area - Perry Hill & Little River State Park. They also help fund our long-range plans to link WATA trails to other local trail systems. So, come on out for a great day of riding and support the trails while you're doing it!

Online registration: $60, includes a limited edition 2022 Gravel Grinder t-shirt, aid stations, and food and beverage tickets after the event. Register by May 4 to receive a t-shirt on the day of the event.

*We will be featuring the "Self-Guided Grind" ride again this year for anyone who might not be able to make the event on 5/15 or aren't into big group events. We'll map out the route for you and have a shirt waiting for local pick-up and you can complete the ride any time you'd like.


Routes - Unchanged from 2021

The Traditional Grinder: This route will be 28 miles with about 2800' of climbing and lots of dirt winding through the hills of Waterbury. The route will be the classic to keep nostalgia high.

The Big Grind: A ~50 mile route with even more climbing and gravelly goodness. Really want to test your early season legs? Stoked on the Traditional Grinder but want to see if you can push it a little farther? This one's for you.

Pre-ride breakfast: STAY TUNED - some of your favorite amazing local shops will help get you fueled for the ride.

On the ride: We're still kitting out the mid-ride aid stations, but we will make sure you are fueled for miles ahead.

Post-ride refuel: After the ride, we will be serving up a tasty and satisfying meal in partnership with some of the best local restaurants this side of the Mississippi. They've taken great care of us in the past and we're stoked they're back this year. Beverages will be provided by the Vermont Beer Shepherd.
