PARKING DETAILS:

***Part of the parking lot on Bidwell Lane will be CLOSED to vehicle traffic up to the Stowe St/Bidwell intersection from 9am to 2pm to allow for the set up and safe pedestrian access.***

Parking can be found at Brookside School, and free and paid lots on S. Main St, Bidwell ln, Dac Row Park, Rusty Parker Park and along the RR tracks, behind the Stone Shed at the end of Bidwell, behind the State Complex, and of course, street parking.

For those unable to walk far, vehicles will be able to drop any visitors off before finding parking if needed. Drivers, please reserve this option for those who need it most.

Daniel Ian Smith is a saxophonist, flutist, educator and composer with over 30 years of experience. He is a Professor at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he has taught for almost 30 years. Smith is in demand as a clinician, guest soloist, and lecturer with appearances throughout the United States, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Israel and England. In 1992, he founded Big and Phat Jazz Productions to serve as the production company for his Jazz in the Sanctuary Concert Series, an independent record label Big and Phat Jazz Productions, and his ensembles and touring projects. The recordings and performances by his ensemble The New World Jazz Composers Octet (NWJCO) have received rave reviews in DownBeat, JazzTimes, Cadence, ArtsFuse and All About Jazz magazines. His groups The New World Jazz Composers Octet, and The Latin Side of Billy Strayhorn have been featured at festivals and concert halls locally and internationally.

A Joyful Sound concerts will feature festive holiday selections for voices and instruments. Solaris is delighted to welcome the Northern Bronze Handbell Ensemble with their five octaves of handbells as our guest artists! The concert opens with a dazzling new arrangement of Joy to the World by Solaris’ own Composer-in-Residence, James Stewart. A delightful array of songs of Christmas and Hanukkah by Eleanor Daley, Andre Thomas, Dan Forrest, Neil Ginsberg, Elaine Hagenberg, Alice Parker and Robert Shaw with a variety of wind, string and percussion instruments will reflect the joyous sounds of the season.
